This time of the year always puts my brain in a pretzel.

There’s so much fun stuff going on in the world of fantasy—the final good slates of the year, best ball playoffs, cash game week, playoff contests—and yet it’s also the time of the year where I start to look forward to a break.

I’m also a sucker for year-end lists and recaps and highlight videos, so I’m always feeling this weird push/pull to enjoy the final moments of the year while simultaneously juggling retrospecting and looking forward to February when the day-to-day workload will lighten.

This feeling isn’t necessarily burnout. It’s just wanting a change of a pace and some time do other things that have been pushed to the backburner.

By this time of the year, it feels like my to-do list is a mile long, filled with tasks I can’t squeeze in alongside my regular in-season responsibilities.

Next week, I’ll try to do what I did last year and round up my favorite moments of the year. And then after that, I’ll share my favorite music from the year and do a New Years resolution post (should we run back book club??).

Also, I wouldn’t mind doing a mailbag at some point if you want to send in a question. I generally just write about whatever is on my mind, but I wouldn’t mind having some inspiration. You can reply directly to this email and I’ll see it.
