🏋️♂️ A Prop Bet Is Brewing...
vs. Patrick Laird...
In this week's P.O. Box:
The Nickle-Dime-Quarter workout
Stream roundup: Rookie hype
On my radar: Shrinking Leone
Streaming schedule: 2 Friday shows
I think I got a prop bet in the works, but I need your help setting the line.
A few weeks ago I wrote about my "Prison Workouts"—a hacked together fitness program born out of necessity after becoming a dad that largely relies on bodyweight exercises and sprints.
Well after I sent that newsletter, I received an email back from Tampa Bay Bucs running back, book club pal, and man whose name I once put on a birthday cake and sloppily ate on stream, Patrick Laird:
I had never heard of the Nickel-Dime-Quarter workout, but I was immediately intrigued as pushups, pullups, and quarter mile sprints represent a large chunk of what I've been doing for exercise lately.
When Laird floated this, I assumed he was baiting me to ask him how many rounds of the challenge he can complete in 30 minutes:
But he wouldn't give it up that easy:
Now this response should immediately raise some red flags. I don't mind a content play here and there, but I'd also prefer not to be in the business of accepting fitness-based prop bets proposed by NFL athletes.
What's the saying, "If you can't spot the sucker on the email thread, then you're the sucker"?
Still, I was not going to turn this down.
I've since attempted the challenge twice, albeit not in perfect conditions. Ideally I'd find a track that has a nearby pull-up bar, but for my test runs I've made do at my house where running to the end of my street and back is a convenient .26 miles.
The downside to my current "course" is having to beeline it down to my basement where my pull-up bar is currently set up, but I at least now have a good ballpark estimate for how many I can do and what I could potentially do if I train for this more intentionally.
I didn't reveal my number to Laird either and asked him what he was thinking for a prop bet...
And that's where we are at now and why I need your help determining a fair line for this potential prop bet.
Please vote:
If we can agree to a consensus line, Laird and I can set a competition day and determine some stakes (if Laird loses he has to eat a cake on stream with my name on it??).

🍳 My favorite rookies to draft right now. Ripped a couple more Big Board drafts on Best Ball Breakfast and revealed which rookies I've been drafting the most before the NFL Draft. Also, we had another Kyle Pitts conversation.
💡 Best ball tips. The NFL draft is coming and you need to beware of backfield bombs.
💦 Who won Free Agency? Spags and I ranked every team based on their moves in Free Agency and which ones will make the biggest impact for fantasy.
🏫 Remember Brandin Cooks? It's time to welcome him back into our lives.
🚢 2 RBs we'll gladly buy the dip on. We scooped some interesting values during a Big Board draft on Ship Chasing.
🏛️ Is the government coming for your crypto? In a very LOLz-y episode, we discussed crypto legislation and the U.S. and China battling over TikTok.
An internet story in three parts.
1. Man posts seemingly innocuous photo after golfing with a friend:
Proof that I got some Sun last weekend. Golfing with @JustinHerzig

2. The internet goes to work:
A lot of people saying this pic was photoshopped, I found the original.

Got two streams on tap today...
First up at 2:30pm ET, a mega preview for NBA Playoff best ball on Underdog. I somehow got addicted to these a few weeks ago despite knowing nothing about NBA, so I decided it was time to talk to some NBA thought leaders. I'll be joined by the Badge Bros, Mike Zakarian, JonBoyBeats, and Andy8052 to preview the playoff picture and dive into strategy for The Dance contest:
Then at 9:00pm, I'm firing up a Best Ball After Dark stream for VIP members. I'll be joined by the BBM2 champ, thumbnail king, and and a man with a very generous interpretation of what constitutes a "dynasty," ChessLiam. Become a YouTube member here for access.
