4 Highlights From A Very Fun Week

Inception...

In this week's P.O. Box:

  • This is work?

  • Content roundup: Main Event Draft Szn is here

  • On Tap: 20k subs?

  • Book Club: Playworld

We are speed-racing to the start of the season, but this was a “stop-and-smell-the roses” kind of week.

A few highlights…

🤪 A Davis Mattek Inception Randomizer. It’s hard to imagine a show more densely packed with meta bits than this one where I played Davis Mattek and Davis played me…playing Davis Mattek.

It really is almost too hard to explain, but people seemed to love it.

📺️ Fantasy Life Magazine On National TV. Matthew made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon this week and showed off the Fantasy Life magazine. If Jimmy makes it to the very end—hosts famously consume every piece of content by their guests—then there’s a very small chance we can convert him into a best ball bro. Fallon strikes me as someone who would definitely be 4-TE curious.

🏆️ What We Can Learn From The 5 Previous BBM Winners. I tried to replicate the exact pick-by-pick structures of all the Best Ball Mania winning teams up to this point for this week’s Deposit Kingdom video.

I was worried it was too gimmicky at first, but people loved it. It also ended up being a fairly useful exercise as far as pushing outside of ADP comfort zone. S/o Sal Stefanile for the idea and Chris & Buck on the edit.

✍️ Best Ball Bros 2025 is off to the editors. I spent this week scripting and recording the 2025 edition of the Best Ball Bros series. No piece of content is more fun for me to make (or brings me more pressure to be good) than the annual BBB video. There’s a lot that needs to be done in post, but keep an eye out for it next week.

🤓 FANTASY LIFE: Weekly Roundup. This week we spotlighted three preseason usage nuggets that surprised us, started to panic about Matthew Stafford, and shared two devastating quotes about dusty veteran RBs.

🎉 BEST BALL BASH + RANDOMIZER: The Wheel is Rigged?!. Before the wild Davis draft, my Randomizer lead writer Matt Wood won a spot to draft with me.

⏰ OFF & ON THE CLOCK: Ignoring ADP To Build A Monster Team. No value hounding here, we reached ahead of ADP for all 18 selections.

🚢SHIP CHASING: FFPC Main Event Draft w/ Ron Stewart. Brutal snipes & WR debates ensued in our first ME stream.

☣️ LOLZ: Ohtani & A Bizarre DFS Tout To Memecoin Turn. A new Ohtani scandal plus a deep dive into the bizarre world of something called Sugar Daddy Season.

📈 ADP CHASING: Huge ADP Risers & Fallers After Preseason Week 1. A number of key injuries stand to dramatically shift the players we've been targeting and will target going forward

🥃 BEST BALL AFTER DARK: with Lineofscrimmage (Saturday at 8pm ET). After Dark welcomes Charlie aka lineofscrimmage to recap our Miami trip and draft a Big Dog team.

For After Dark shows, you can become a YT member for access or subscribe on Spotify for a private RSS feed (I post the video/audio there directly after the show).

Then on Monday at 10am ET, we’ve got Best Ball Breakfast with Adam Levitan joining. We are only 40 subscribers away from 20k. Can we hit it??
