This was a fun week. Lots going on. Here’s the recap…
Our contestants are beefing before we even start. The application deadline is still 6 days away (April 23), but things are already heating up on So You Think You Can Tout. An applicant named Rickadoodle fired shots at PPR Tyler, who has one of the more popular submissions so far.
I break it all down in the most recent video on the Deposit Kingdom channel and also interview a potential villain, spotlight a few really strong recent submissions, and announce our first guest judge. The comments are popping off, watch it here.
The NFL Draft is almost here. While this draft has less buzz than any I can remember in the post-COVID era, there’s still a decent amount of intrigue. As always, I pretty much only care about it through the lenses of fantasy football. We did a dynasty rookie mock draft on Ship Chasing with a few guests on Thursday and it’s depressing how quickly the talent dries up this year.
April is growing faster than I’d like. Quick content detour here to say April is just growing up way too damn fast. We transitioned her from her crib to a toddler bed last weekend. She’s now sitting through these 100-page Disney books that my mom brought us from when we were kids. She’s insanely perceptive and we can’t get anything by her anymore.

At least we are a ways from this…

Final drafts before lock. The contests are drying up in the lobby, but we are still doing some final cramming because we are operating under a strict, “no off stream” drafts rule for now. I drafted five teams at once on Best Ball Breakfast and it went better than I thought it would, although still not great. For Fantasy Life, I wrote about five veteran WRs who represent blind spots for me and interrogated whether that is justified or not.
On the Bash, we drafted with a SYTYC hopeful, BBChosen, as well as with a man named Charles who claims he has never drafted without a beer in his hand.
Also for Fantasy Life, we explained why AJ Brown is as good as gone and why the recent Travis Hunter reports are pure slop engineered to psyop you from making an awesome asymmetric bet.
Elsewhere on stream:
Sam Sherman returned to ADP Chasing to sub in for Pat Kerrane (inactive, vacation). He did a very funny Overzet’s Overview homage at the top of the show.
I genuinely have a hard time remembering what we discuss on the Swolecast, but I know we discussed Vrabel/Russini and that Kitchen tried to explain a ‘romantic treehouse’ to us.
The NBA Playoffs officially start tomorrow, so we put together one final NBA playoff best ball show on OOTC with special guests Mike Zakarian and Scott Blumstein. Here’s a way to win some free draft tokens, btw.
I’m going to draft my Scott Fish Bowl team live in Boston this year. More details here.
Finally, After Dark returns tonight (8pm ET) with special guest Nick Ercolano. Excited to hear about what he’s been up to, including the bleeding edge of A.I. adoption for his company, BDGE. 🕷 Book #3 for April (10%): Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky
I knew there were spiders…but I don’t think I knew they played this big of a role. Some of the set up here is reminiscent of Project Hail Mary with Holsten waking up from a cryo-sleep on a massive ship after Earth collapsed. I think I’m going to enjoy this…
💀 Book #2 for February (COMPLETED): Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders
🧱 Book #1 for January (COMPLETED): The City and Its Uncertain Walls by Haruki Murakami.
