A special Thursday edition of the PO Box newsletter because 1) the World Cup starts today and 2) I got some breaking SYTYCT news to share regarding the Survivor challenge…
World Cup Action
Alright, I finally got the World Cup bug. I pulled the trigger on tickets to see England/Ghana at Gillette and have started getting some action down in a few spots…
Fantasy sharp D4VE gave us his favorite long-shot bet for the tournament on After Dark.
Andrew Laird—a true soccer ball knower—walked us through a tournament preview on the Swolecast. I took notes…but mainly made jokes.
The Swolecast has a sick 20k World Cup Survivor contest. If you enjoy the NFL or March Madness versions, you’ll love this. Quick explainer:
This is a two-phase Survivor contest built around the 2026 World Cup. In the Group Stage phase, select 4 teams you believe will advance to the Round of 32. All 4 of your teams must successfully advance for you to survive into the Knockout Stage. In the Knockout Stage, pick 1 team per round to win their match. Your pick can earn the win in regulation, overtime or shootout. Pick correctly and you advance; pick incorrectly and you're eliminated. You may use a team 1 time during the entire contest. The last surviving entry wins the prize.
Register here for $25. Winner also gets a free guest spot on the show.
Lastly, Underdog just launched daily draft games for the tournament if you want to scratch the itch that way.
Ok, now let’s break some SYTYCT news…
