It was a little over four years ago when Peter Jennings put me in touch with Jeremy Levine, who was about to launch Underdog Fantasy:
I had just started streaming the Randomizer drafts in the wake of the pandemic and was pretty excited about the thought of doing them on Underdog.
The summer before, I had done a trip to Yosemite National Park with the Three Donkeys bros. Jennings was on the clock in—not exaggerating—hundreds of slow drafts on DRAFT during our hikes around the park, which was both truly ahead of his time and absurd behavior. I had gotten a best ball contact high and an itch to start drafting myself.
Jeremy put me in touch with David Gamboa, who is now the VP of Design but was juggling marketing then as well. I think they had fewer than a handful of full-time employees at the time. We agreed to some small deal for me to stream the rest of my Randomizer drafts on Underdog. I had 1100 subscribers at the time. I was thrilled.
Flash forward to Wednesday, and Underdog announced a new weekly show/podcast with Bill Belichick.
Underdog is such a massive operation at this point that it’s hard to believe it’s only been four years since the launch.
Best ball has exploded, they are rapidly expanding into the sports betting market, and are well on their way to building a massive content empire.
Happy to be a small part of it and excited to see what happens next. Hopefully, it can involve Bill on the Randomizer.

This was such a fun read and a perfect selection for the dried-out month of July.
My only complaint is somehow wishing there were even more narration from the voice of Mattie.
Rooster talked all night. I would doze off and wake up and he would still be talking. I did not give credence to everything he said. He said he knew a woman in Sedelia, Missouri, who had stepped on a needle as a girl and nine years later the needle worked out of the thigh of her third child. He said it puzzled the doctors.
