The Final 2 Weeks

In this week's P.O. Box:

Two weeks from today I’ll be in Vegas drafting my final fantasy football teams of the summer, which means there’s a lot to squeeze in before we turn over our best ball calendar to weekly DFS mode.

Here is a quick rundown of the fun stuff on the docket:

🏃 Sat, 8/24: Underdog Cardio Club In Cambridge, MA

I’ll be hosting an IRL event in Cambridge tomorrow afternoon. We’ll be doing a run on the Charles River while drafting, followed by a happy hour in Harvard Square.

There will be merch, a pick ‘em special, and free food & drinks for those who attend.

📼 Mon, 8/26: Best Ball Bros 2024 Video Drops

It’s finally time to release the 2024 edition of “Best Ball Bros.” It will premiere live on the Deposit Kingdom channel at 2pm ET directly after Best Ball Breakfast.

There are some familiar characters, but also some new bros. No one is safe.

Previous editions: 2023, 2022, and 2021.

🥊 Thur, 8/29: Fantasy Feud (Randomizer Finale)

I always try to do something special/different for the Randomizer finale and we are really pulling out all the stops this year. Thanks to a huge assist from the production team, we will be ditching the wheel for a game of Fantasy Feud.

I’ll be doing my best Steve Harvey as Team ETR (Evan Silva, Mike Leone, and John Daigle) faces off against Team Ship Chasing (Pat Kerrane, Ben Gretch, and Davis Mattek).

When: 3pm ET on the live stream channel.

🍆 Thur, 8/29: High Stakes Draft w/ Crakrok

Everyone’s favorite annual tradition—cranking purple with Crakrok in the FFPC Main Event.

When: 7pm ET on the Ship Chasing channel.

💊 Fri, 8/30: Truth Serum Video Drops

I’ve collected over 20 “truth serum” takes from friends across the best ball space. It’s a hilarious blend of hot takes, contrarian positions, and embarrassing thoughts.

☕️ Tues, 9/3: Final Best Ball Breakfast

I’m not sure what will be in the lobby post-Labor Day weekend, but we’ll be drafting regardless. One finial hurrah for hot best ball summer.

💪 Tues, 9/3: High Stakes Draft w/ Mike Leone

Every year the best team we draft is always with Leone (funny how that works). This year we’ll be streaming a 5K FFPC draft on a special Tuesday night edition of Ship Chasing. Alpha plays only.

I’ll also have a bunch of Week 1 DFS/daily content flowing before the Sunday main slate on 9/8, including the return of Block Party DFS shows w/ JMToWin and a new weekly Battle Royale-focused video series on the DK channel.

🌤️ Book #15 for August (50%): Paradise Sky by Joe R. Lansdale.

I really wish I was reading this book via paperback instead of Kindle. It just feels like the type of book you’d dog ear and wear out while dragging it to the beach, on a train, and everywhere in between.

There’s something about it that takes me back to reading a book like The Outsider for the first time in middle school, or Franny and Zooey in high school—where you have zero expectations but then find yourself shocked with how much you enjoy living in its world.
