🏠 I'm Never Leaving My House

The outside world had a nice run...

In this week's P.O. Box:

  • Sauna and garage gym updates

  • Dynasty Guy: 2023 Ranks

  • Best Ball Breakfast expansion: Kerrane & Shawn Siegele

  • Stream roundup: DFS Drama

  • On my radar: New tournaments

I’m finally emerging from a busy 2-week stretch where I hosted my parents and college buddies on back-to-back weekends.

I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with everyone, including a successful first trip to the Encore casino in Boston where I placed my first legal sports wager in Mass, but I am also very excited to get back to a my normal routine.

One of the many perks to having my parents out here was that my Dad was able to help me finish two projects I’ve been researching and working on for a long time, a sauna and a home gym:

When I say “we did it” in that Tweet, it’s not the royal we. I literally could not have done it without a real man assisting me. Thanks, Dad:

Assembling the sauna is a two-person job regardless, but there was a zero percent chance that I was going to be able to handle it without his help. There was a decent amount of precision needed with the measurements and I’m so embarrassingly inept when it comes to anything handy-adjacent that I truly needed the hand-holding of a retired civil engineer to get it done.

It ended up taking us around 6 hours total to fully assemble, but my God, was it worth it. I’ve used it every day since and it’s already my favorite purchase I’ve ever made.

I also finally got the bare bones of my garage gym up-and-running:

There is a lot more that I want to do as far as flooring and beefing up equipment (need more kettlebells and dumbbells), but the rack, bench, and pull-up bar give me plenty to work with for now. The entire rig (rack and bench) fold into the wall so I can still park a car in there when needed, which is nice.

The end result of all this is that I have officially eliminated the need for a gym membership, or more broadly, the need to ever leave my house again…

Speaking of never leaving your basement, Dynasty Guy popped up again for his annual rookie ranks unveiling:

This is the fourth year that this manic individual has blessed the dynasty community with his thoughts on the incoming class, although he does seem to truly be losing it:

This week I launched a new weekly Best Ball Breakfast show featuring two of the sharpest guys in the industry—the defending Best Ball Mania champ, Pat Kerrane and the godfather of Zero RB, Shawn Siegele:

Early feedback has been great and I can’t wait to draft teams with these guys every Wednesday.

The audio from the Shawn drafts will be on the Rotoviz podcast feed, fyi.

📺 BBM4 Drafts: #23 & #24 Best Ball Breakfast, #25 & #26 Splash Play, #27 w/ Kerrane, #28 w/ Siegele, #29 Swolecast.

🤯 NBA Playoffs & Andy’s big move. Checking in on the NBA Playoffs and the surprise Finals matchup on tap. Andy also shares why he is shuttering his crypto companies and what he's going to do next.

It’s been cool to see Underdog launching a variety of new tournaments recently. We got a cheap 20-max tournament, as well as two mid-stakes, smaller field contests available in the lobby right now:

It’s just dangerous if you are a best ball completist…

Enjoy the long weekend. I’ll see ya Tuesday.
