Let's Run It Back

I’m slowly but surely starting to act on some of my “roadmap” plans for 2025. A major one is firing up another round of the offseason PO Box Book Club.

I recently finished Erik Larson’s awesome Demon Of Unrest (his Devil In The White City was a hit around here last summer) and I finally feel like I have some momentum going on the reading front.

This year’s edition won’t be as aggressive as last year with two books per month, but my plan will be to share one selection at the start of each month and then I’ll try to drop some thoughts each week along the way as I make my way through the book.

As always, I appreciate any suggestions for book selections—whether you want to fill out the o.g. form, drop a note in the #book-club channel in the Deposit Kingdom Discord, or respond to this e-mail.

My goal is to triangulate stuff that I would want to read on my own that I also think most people reading this newsletter would enjoy. We didn’t always hit that mark last year, but I’d say we had a decent batting average.

To kick things off this year, we are going back to the Anthony Jeselnik recommendation well.

Last year I heard about Chain Gang All-Stars from his favorite book list and this year I’m plucking another one from his year-end favorites…
