In this week's P.O. Box:

  • The story behind my best BBM team

  • Content roundup: Week 6 prep

  • On Tap: After Dark w/ Dink, Week 6 Cram & ShipCast

  • Book Club: Endure

I haven’t done too much hawking of my Best Ball Mania portfolio yet. When I have combed through teams it’s been in the Eliminator contest, where things are really starting to get down to the nitty gritty (I only have 6 teams left).

But on Monday’s Pourtfolio Review I was curious on what stream I drafted my best team, which has 714.22 points:

And boy was I delighted to discover that it was a Best Ball Bash episode where six different guests from the Deposit Kingdom joined me for three picks each.

I’m pretty sure if you had asked me to pick one single team to be the best one in my portfolio it would have likely been this one (or maybe the wild Zero RB team I drafted with Shawn Siegele):

At the time, I thought this game of telephone would result in a broken, frankensteined monster with a bunch of half-baked ideas and no logical cohesion. But that is the exact opposite of what happened. Instead, we have a near-perfect team with a nice structure (hyperfragile RB!), league-winning selections (Taylor & JSN together is sick), and cheap correlation (Texans rookies, Chargers skinny stack):

Every single drafter got us on at least one clutch selection, if not two or three:

  • Purple Yosh (Gibbs, Taylor, JSN)

  • Andrew (Breece, Sutton, Deebo)

  • ArtilleryFrost (Jeudy, Higgins, Kelce)

  • WillisIsAwesome (Keenan, Herbert, Stroud)

  • StarTours (Ferguson, Marks, TeSlaa)

  • Chad Candles (Indiana Jones, Jonnu, Brashard)

Most importantly, this team is completely healthy right now. Let’s see if we can keep it rolling.
