In this week's P.O. Box:

  • What I’m up to

  • Content roundup

  • Book Club: I’m trying…

After another week in hibernation mode, I think I’m about ready to get rolling again…

What I’ve been doing. Removing snow from my driveway like Sisyphus. Still not drinking alcohol. Kettlebell workouts 4x a week. Trying to hit 10k steps per day and sometimes failing but mostly succeeding. Same for daily meditation. Sketching out a big, new project (details soon). Eating clean and in a calorie deficit 6 out of every 7 days (that's a fancy workaround to not say “cheat day”). Desperately wishcasting spring into existence…

What I’ve been watching. Shrinking (incredible comfort food), The Pitt (S2 is really hitting its stride), Neighbors (very entertaining new documentary on HBO), Hijack (as pulpy and over the top as the first season), the gold medal hockey game (April was more excited about the teddy bears and “necklaces" than the Canadians), and a Todd Barry stand-up show in Cambridge (still one of my favorite comedians; such a unique voice).

What I'm looking forward to. LA next week for the Dawg Bowl (and some margaritas), dipping my toes back in the drafting waters (Best Ball Breakfast returns Monday), not seeing snow again for another 9 months…

  • The ADP Chasing crew hit on news surrounding Javonte Williams, Rashee Rice, and Travis Hunter before taking a twirl on the coaching carousel and how it will impact fantasy.

  • Pat Mayo invited me on his new untitled show. It was a lot of fun, but should I be concerned that one of the main topics was “post divorce dating strategy”?

  • The Swolecast transitioned into offseason mode with the return of Around The Swole. There are some bugs to be worked out (and font sizes to increase), but you at least got to learn what makes the three of us cry.

  • After Dark is back tonight with special guest Megan Shoup from FanSpeak. These shows have been getting good reviews (become a member here):

🧱 Book #2 for February (15%): Lincoln In The Bardo by George Saunders

I'm not going to lie—the aggressive use of citations and the choppiness of the book is driving me crazy right now. I feel like it’s 50-50 if I finish at this point, but I’m going to push forward for now.

Reviews seem to indicate that I'm not alone in feeling disoriented at the start, so I'll try to channel my inner Sam Hinkie and “trust the process.”

🧱 Book #1 for January (COMPLETED): The City and Its Uncertain Walls by Haruki Murakami.
