Too Many Treats
It's that time of year..
In this week's P.O. Box:
Over-indulging
Content roundup: Carpool Karaoke
On Tap: Best Ball After Dark Meets Best Ball Bash
This is one of my favorite times of the year.
Lauren and I both have birthdays within a span of a few days, there’s Father’s Day, and 4th of July is on tap. I checked our calendar the other day and realized that I don’t have a free weekend until late August.
It is always tricky staying dialed with healthy eating during this stretch, though.
I type this, not coincidentally, after having enjoyed one too many Mai Tais (and a truly phenomenal poo poo platter) at a Tiki bar on Wednesday night for Lauren’s birthday.
And that’s before mentioning the string of three straight days with birthday cake. By the way—leftover chocolate cake with vanilla and coconut frosting as a Creami mix-in melted my face off the other night.
I try not to beat myself up too much, but it is hard to maintain positive eating habits when all of the fun events happen in such a compressed window.
I guess I’ll just need to bang out a few more pull-ups at the playground…something I admitted to doing on this week’s Swolecast…

☁️ Book #5 for June & July (35%): Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr
My reading has slowed over the past week with so many things going on, but still chipping away at this here and there. I’m liking the Zeno and Konstance story lines the most so far, but excited to see how the Anna and Omeir stories collide.
I will say, I’m jealous of those of you who binged this, because it’s been a harder book to do a bunch of stop/starts with. It takes me awhile to refamiliarize myself with the characters and the various plot lines.
🐊 Book #4 for May (COMPLETED): Gator Country: Deception, Danger, and Alligators in the Everglades by Rebecca Renner
